Photos on silk and lace

I'm still debating if I like these new photos on some beautiful silk and lace I found. Actually, it was a few slips that must have belonged to my Aunt. She was tossing them out and I'm so glad I found them in the recycling/donation bag she filled. They must be from the 50's-60's.
I really love the ultra feminine feel of using the fabric under my pieces. Retaking new pictures...AGAIN...I quickly remember why I invested so much time and energy buying my special bulbs and making a light box. Natural light is such a pain when the sun isn't shining...or worse, when I only get a few hours of sun a day this time of year. I wanted to use natural daylight since the ivory petals are so delicate and get lost in the "natural synthetic" light.
I worry that it all blends together now. I liked using the aqua silk dupioni that I have used in several pictures but I just wanted to try something softer.

I noticed that the VERY pigmented pieces are REALLY challenging to photograph. I literally have had 20 pieces of gorgeous dark red designs sitting in my possession for over a year since I can't get them to photograph correctly. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with a setting on my camera but I have no clue what to do. Everything comes out way over exposed for now so I can't even photoshop them decently.
:P
It's all still a learning experience to me!

I just realized I don't think I really posted the light on light pieces I was talking about!
:P
Ah, next time...

More Halloween Pics

Well, it was a LOVE fest at my Mom's this weekend. I went to stay at my Mom's for my sister's Birthday that we celebrated Saturday. However, all the rest of the weekend I was having Snuggle time with my Mom's little Shih tzu Sophie. I realized I REALLY want a Shih tzu when I decide I am ready to have a dog in my life. I'm not allergic to her which is the number one plus to this breed for me. Also, I just LOVE how sweet and utterly affectionate they are! Last night we were sitting on the sofa and she was snuggled up like a little baby with her tummy up and head in the crook of my arm. SO CUTE! (I just realized how that sounded SO my biological clock ticking) (YIKES) I do feel a little guilty that I had so much fun and my poor little Topoli kitty was here at home. So, this evening we had some snuggle time together until my legs and butt started getting numb from him sitting on my lap!
lol
He's a decent sized male cat.
So, my Mom sent me these pictures of Sophie's Halloween outfit.
Just had to share.
...I just keep thinking how silly we humans are with our pets.
BTW, I had my Mom watch Beverly Hills Chihuahua with me since I knew she would like it.
She totally liked it. My bet I find it in her DVD collection in the future!
:P
These crack me up.

SPOTLIGHT: thesoapseduction

Everyone knows how I just LOVE the FOODIE items!
Well, I just came across some AMAZING foodie soaps made by thesoapseduction!
I have found food fragrance soaps and foodie looking candles but I haven't found any really foodie looking soaps! (aside from some popsicle and cookie looking ones) I'm sure I will be corrected!
:P
I can't remember the last time I ate a donut but goodness me I sure would like to eat one with my hot tea after finding these!
Chocolate Donut Hole Soap

I remember several years ago for a special something I would treat myself to a little Creme Brulee from the Bristol Farms down the street from my old apartment. Heaven forbid I try to bake something in the oven I had there...even the Gasman was shocked it was SO old...and leaking gas. Figured out why I was getting sick and bad headaches when I first moved there...but, I digress... that little size dessert I could buy was perfect to share with someone else. This brings back memories!
Creme Brulee Soap

Full of Vanilla and even sprinkled with real cinnamon powder! I bet this smells wonderful!
Finally, if you are a fan of CARROT CAKE with cream cheese frosting I think we'll agree to be careful not to fall over in the shower as I would never want any of my readers to injure themselves by overindulging the senses with foodie soaps!!!!
But, c'mon! Look at this?!
Carrot Cupcake Soap

DELICIOUS!
If looking at these hasn't made you crave some sugar then I have no idea what to say.
On that note, I'm going to go brush my teeth!

Go check out her shop!
I think these would make awesome stocking stuffers!!!!

Here are a few incredible examples of how the bride and groom can be customized. The bride and groom may be used as wedding cake toppers, table centerpiece or as a memorable gift for a newly married couple. The bride and groom are 3 3/4" tall. Their heads are 2" wide. They each have a non toxic clear coating on them that shines them up nicely.

FUN FIND of the DAY: Crocheted Antique Lace Pineapple Shawl

FUN FIND OF THE DAY: Crocheted Antique Lace Pineapple Shawl

"This lightweight pineapple shawl was designed to allow the sides of the shawl to drape over your shoulders and stay there. The design is based on an antique pineapple pattern, one of my favourites. The shawl has been crocheted using a varigated blue acrylic yarn and is completely machine washable. The shawl measures approximately 60" across the top and approx 36" down the center back."

How AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS is this?!
The craftsmanship is outstanding! I can't even imagine how long it take to make something as elaborate as this!
Well, I saw it and KNEW I HAD to share!
